Our Mission: Arizona SmartPower is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping Arizona residents make smart energy choices.
The Arizona Solar Challenge
The Arizona Solar Challenge empowers communities across the state to commit to installing solar on 5% of owner-occupied homes by 2015.
Our integrated community engagement approach connects solar prospects with local solar adopters – Solar Ambassadors – to reach into existing community networks and help others consider solar. We offer the services of a Solar Coach, a neutral third-party expert who guides consumers from awareness to installation. And we work with community leaders and local organizations to build on their networks.
We work completely free of charge and do not accept fees or commissions from any installer, contractor, equipment manufacturer or vendor. We are supported by Arizona Public Service and are proud to help APS customers go solar, whether it is PV, or solar hot water, or both.
Electric Vehicle Stakeholder Project
As electric car companies begin pilot programs in Phoenix and Tucson, we’re bringing policy makers and thought leaders from across Arizona together to discuss the challenges and benefits of electric vehicles and their associated infrastructure.
Arizona SmartPower is a program of SmartPower, an organization founded in 2002 by forward-thinking private foundations to help increase the demand for renewable energy. We work with federal and state agencies, as well as utility companies. Here in Arizona, we are supported by Arizona Public Service (APS). We’re not here to sell you anything. We don’t sell solar panels, home energy audits, or compact fluorescent bulbs – and we don’t get commissions for asking you to purchase these things. We simply want to encourage you to use them, and want to make it easier for you to do so. To learn more, explore our website or contact Toni Bouchard.
